Experiences

Every Dimension of European Fine Dining

Belgian Michelin Circuit

Belgium has more Michelin-starred restaurants per capita than France — an extraordinary density of culinary excellence. FFGR Belgium maintains direct reservation access to Hof van Cleve (Kruishoutem, 3 stars), Comme Chez Soi (Brussels, 2 stars), La Paix (Anderlecht, 1 star), and 50+ other starred addresses. Typically 5–7 days notice where standard guests wait 6 weeks.

Champagne Region Private Cellars

From Brussels, the Champagne region is a 3-hour drive southeast. FFGR Belgium coordinates exclusive private cellar visits to Moët & Chandon, Dom Pérignon, Ruinart, and Krug — including visits not accessible through the public tasting program. Grape harvest visits (September–October) are the most sought-after programme of the year.

Burgundy Grand Cru Tastings

Burgundy is 4.5 hours from Brussels on the A6. FFGR Belgium coordinates private domaine visits across the Côte de Nuits and Côte de Beaune — Romanée-Conti by introduction only, Armand Rousseau, Leroy, Lafite, and the grands crus of Gevrey-Chambertin and Vosne-Romanée. Custom 1–3 day itineraries with overnight at Les Sources de Caudalie or La Côte Saint-Jacques.

Belgian Artisan Brewery Tours

Belgium produces 1,500+ beer varieties — Trappist ales brewed in silence at Westmalle and Westvleteren, spontaneous lambics at Brasserie Cantillon in Brussels (Anderlecht), and De Halve Maan in Bruges. FFGR Belgium arranges private behind-the-scenes tours, tastings with the brewmaster, and acquisition of limited-release bottles.

Belgian Chocolate & Artisan Circuit

The Chocolate Line in Bruges (Pierre Marcolini's original atelier), Neuhaus in the Galeries Royales Saint-Hubert (birthplace of the praline, 1857), and the appointment-only atelier of Joost Arijs in Ghent — FFGR Belgium arranges private sessions with the chocolatiers and a custom selection for gifting or private consumption.

Belgian Coast Seafood Programme

The Belgian coast — De Panne to Knokke-le-Zoute — has a concentrated seafood dining tradition. Sel Gris (Knokke, 2 stars), La Réserve (De Haan), and the private fishing boat auction access at Nieuwpoort fish market combine for a half-day or full-day coastal programme departing from Brussels.

Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Can FFGR Belgium reserve Michelin-starred restaurants in Brussels on short notice?

For most starred addresses in Brussels and wider Belgium, FFGR Belgium can secure a reservation with 5–7 days notice — compared to the standard 4–8 week wait for Comme Chez Soi, Hof van Cleve, or La Paix. For Saturday evenings and during EU Council or summit weeks, 2–3 weeks notice is advisable even through our concierge channel.

How does the Champagne cellar visit programme work?

FFGR Belgium drives clients from Brussels to the Champagne region (approximately 3 hours each way on the A4). We pre-arrange private cellar visits at 2–4 houses, typically including one from the grandes maisons (Moët, Ruinart, Krug) and one from the smaller grower-producers (Chartogne-Taillet, Pierre Péters). For day visits, departure is at 7:30 from Brussels; return by 20:30. Overnight programmes use the Royal Champagne Hotel & Spa in Champillon.

Do you arrange private dining in châteaux or private estates in Belgium?

Yes. FFGR Belgium can coordinate private dining experiences at Château de Namur, Manoir de Lébioles in the Ardennes, and selected private estates in the Gaume region. For occasions of significance — anniversary dinners, corporate retreats, family gatherings — a private château dinner is a distinctive alternative to a restaurant reservation.

Can I visit the Westvleteren Trappist brewery?

The Abbey of Saint Sixtus in Westvleteren does not offer standard public visits — the brothers brew under a vow of restraint and the beer is not commercially distributed. FFGR Belgium can arrange a respectful external visit to Westvleteren and coordinates the Café de Vrede (across the road) for a legitimate in de Brouwerij tasting experience. For a behind-the-scenes brewery visit, De Halve Maan in Bruges and Cantillon in Brussels both offer FFGR-coordinated private access.

Is a private sommelier available for wine programmes?

Yes. FFGR Belgium includes a certified sommelier as an option on any wine programme of a full day or more. The sommelier prepares a briefing document tailored to the client's existing cellar and preferences, leads domaine tastings, advises on acquisition, and coordinates purchase logistics (export documentation, temperature-controlled transport) for any wines purchased during the programme.
