TEFAF Maastricht by Private Chauffeur: The Collector's Guide

TEFAF is the world's most rigorous art fair — 260+ vetted galleries, €5B in annual transactions, a 12-day window each March. FFGR Belgium provides preview day access and collector transport from Brussels.

TEFAF Maastricht — The European Fine Art Fair — operates on terms that distinguish it from every other art and antiques fair in the world. 260 galleries from 20+ countries are accepted only after passing a vetting process so stringent that works presented have a documented return rate to sellers of under 0.1% post-sale. In the world of high-value art transactions, this is not a statistic — it is a warranty.

The fair takes place annually in March at the MECC convention centre in Maastricht, 120 kilometres from Brussels. Door-to-door from central Brussels by FFGR chauffeur: 1 hour 20 minutes. This proximity is one of the primary reasons that TEFAF has become an annual fixture for Belgian and Dutch collectors, as well as for European UHNW clients using Brussels as a base.

Preview day is the defining moment of TEFAF. Held on the Wednesday before public opening, preview day is access-controlled, attended by the world's major museum directors, Christie's and Sotheby's specialists, and serious private collectors. Works transact on preview day that never appear publicly — prices are agreed before the general public has seen the fair's floor plan.

FFGR Belgium's TEFAF programme requires 21 days advance booking. We arrange preview day passes, coordinate with dealer contacts for pre-fair studio visits where applicable, and provide a vehicle appropriate to the nature of the visit — typically the Rolls-Royce Ghost for collector transportation, or the Cullinan if the programme extends beyond the fair to the Château Neercanne lunch.

Château Neercanne, 3 kilometres from the MECC, is the only terraced castle in the Netherlands — a UNESCO-listed building with Michelin-starred dining carved literally into the limestone hillside beneath the castle's formal gardens. FFGR recommends combining a TEFAF morning with a Château Neercanne lunch as the definitive Maastricht programme. Reservation 10–14 days advance.

Maastricht TEFAF Collector Programme: Rolls-Royce Ghost from €580 (preview access + dealer introductions + Château Neercanne).
