Two UNESCO-recognised crafts native to Belgium: Brussels lace and Belgian chocolate. FFGR Belgium arranges private workshops with master craftspeople in Brussels and Bruges.
Belgian lace and Belgian chocolate are both on the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage list, and both are still practised at master level by craftspeople accessible through FFGR Belgium's concierge network.
Brussels lace (Dentelle de Bruxelles): FFGR Belgium arranges 2-hour private workshops with a master lacemaker in the Sablon quarter — the client works on a pillow with bobbins under direct instruction, producing a section of their own lace. Sought by collectors, textile professionals, and decorative arts enthusiasts.
Belgian chocolate workshops: Pierre Marcolini's atelier on the Place du Grand Sablon offers private sessions for 2-6 people — touring the production kitchen, learning ganache making and tempering, and taking away a personalised chocolate box. Duration: 2.5 hours.
The Bruges circuit: the Kantcentrum (lace museum with working demonstrations) combined with a Bruges chocolate workshop. Departure Brussels 09:00, Bruges arrival 09:50, complete by 14:00.
Rate: private transfer Brussels–Bruges–Brussels plus workshop coordination: from €480 (Mercedes S-Class) to €680 (Rolls-Royce Ghost). Workshop admission fees additional.
