Ardennes Private Chauffeur Weekend: Château, Forest & Gastronomy

The Belgian Ardennes begin 120 kilometres from Brussels. FFGR Belgium arranges private weekend programmes: château accommodation, forest transfers, private chef, sommelier, and Rolls-Royce or Maybach throughout.

The Belgian Ardennes occupy the southeastern quarter of the country — a landscape of dense oak and beech forest, river valleys carved by the Semois, Ourthe, and Lesse, and a scattering of historic châteaux and converted farmhouses that constitute Belgium's most compelling private accommodation offer. The nearest forest begins 120 kilometres from Brussels. In a Rolls-Royce or Maybach, that is approximately 90 minutes.

The Ardennes suffered its defining modern moment in December 1944, when the final German offensive of the Second World War — the Battle of the Bulge — raked these valleys for six weeks. Bastogne, La Roche-en-Ardenne, and Saint-Hubert still carry that history in their landscape and their cultural memory. For some visitors, the historical dimension is part of the programme; FFGR Belgium can arrange private guided visits to the Mardasson Memorial and the 101st Airborne Museum with pre-reserved access outside public hours.

For most clients, the Ardennes programme is primarily restorative. Arrival on Friday evening at a private château — our preferred properties include a 17th-century hunting lodge near Libramont and a renovated farmhouse estate above the Semois valley that accommodates eight guests with private pool. Saturday: forest walks, optional guided cycling on closed trails, or a morning at the Thermes de Spa (50 minutes from the southern Ardennes). Dinner: our private chef service, installed in the château kitchen, preparing four courses with local venison, Ardennes ham, and regional cheese selection. Sunday: slow morning, departure by early afternoon.

The complete FFGR Belgium Ardennes weekend programme — vehicle from Brussels, château accommodation, private chef for two dinners and one breakfast, and all in-Ardennes transfers — is priced from €3,200 for two guests. Rolls-Royce vehicle upgrade from an additional €800. Group programmes for up to eight guests are priced on consultation.

This is not a weekend break. It is a private production — one in which every variable has been addressed before you arrive, so that the only thing requiring your attention is the forest.
