The Ghent Light Festival illuminates 70+ architectural monuments every three years — the next edition is January 2027. FFGR Belgium arranges advance evening programmes with Rolls-Royce transport and private guided circuit.
The Ghent Light Festival is one of Europe's largest free light art events — 70 to 80 light installations across the historic city centre, activated at dusk and visible through the night. It runs every three years over ten days in January; the next edition takes place in January 2027, with installation positions and artists typically announced in the autumn of the preceding year.
Ghent during the Light Festival is qualitatively different from Ghent during any other period. The medieval canal system becomes the central design element — reflections on water, projections across stone facades, installations floating between bridge parapets. Crowds are significant at peak hours (Friday and Saturday after 9pm), but the festival runs from 6pm and the early evening slot — particularly on weekdays — offers the installations at full effect with a fraction of the crowd volume.
FFGR Belgium's Ghent Light Festival programme is structured for this early-evening window: departure from Brussels at 5pm, arrival in Ghent by 6pm, private walking circuit with a guide who has been briefed on the specific installation locations and the most effective viewing sequence. Vehicle repositions throughout the evening at collection points on the perimeter. Dinner at Vrijmoed (advance booking essential during festival period) at 9pm, departure to Brussels by 11pm.
The 2027 programme is already available for advance booking, allowing preferred restaurant reservations and guide arrangements to be confirmed before the public booking window opens. FFGR Belgium manages the full evening logistics including Brussels collection, Ghent vehicle positioning, guide engagement, restaurant reservation, and return transfer.
Ghent Light Festival evening programme pricing: from €420 (Mercedes S-Class, up to 3 passengers) or €680 (Rolls-Royce Ghost, up to 4 passengers), inclusive of guide and all logistics.
