Antwerp controls approximately 80% of the world's rough diamond trade. FFGR Belgium arranges appointment-only access to GIA-certified dealers with Rolls-Royce transport and plainclothes CPO escort. From €650 per half-day.
Antwerp has served as the world's diamond capital since the 15th century, when Flemish merchants and Sephardic Jews established the first trading networks that persist, in transformed form, to this day. The Diamantwijk — the Diamond Quarter spanning four streets between Antwerp Centraal and the Pelikaanstraat — concentrates over 1,700 diamond companies, four diamond bourses, and dozens of GIA-certified cutting and polishing houses within a geography that could be walked in twenty minutes.
The casual visitor sees only security shutters and unmarked doors. The private client with FFGR Belgium access sees something entirely different: appointment-confirmed introductions to six pre-vetted houses, each selected for a different specialisation. One house focuses exclusively on investment-grade D-IF round brilliants. Another has the deepest inventory of natural vivid fancy yellows in Europe. A third specialises in bespoke commissions — clients who arrive with a concept and leave with a preliminary design sketch. A fourth offers certified pre-owned jewellery from major houses at 15 to 30 percent below retail.
FFGR Belgium's Antwerp programme begins with a private consultation the week before your visit. We discuss your objective — acquisition, commissioning, estate sale, education, or pure experience — and select the two or three houses most precisely aligned. We confirm appointments in your name, or anonymously if privacy requires. On the day, you depart Brussels in a Rolls-Royce Ghost or Phantom, arriving at each house escorted by our plainclothes CPO officer, who remains discreet but present throughout every transaction.
The half-day programme (three hours in the Quarter) starts at €650, covering vehicle, escort, and our coordination fee. Full-day programmes including private lunch in the Zurenborg district and an optional afternoon at the MAS Museum are available from €1,100. For clients acquiring at significant value, we can arrange liaison with Belgian notaries for immediate authentication documentation, and introduction to secure storage facilities at Brinks Belgium.
The Diamond Quarter is not a tourist attraction. It is a professional environment that rewards preparation, discretion, and relationship. FFGR Belgium provides all three.
