Wine Tours from Brussels: Champagne, Burgundy, and Belgian Viticulture

Belgium borders two of the world's great wine regions. FFGR Belgium arranges private cellar visits in Champagne (180km) and Burgundy (450km) with grower appointments, tasting notes, and cellar access not open to the public.

Belgium sits at the northern edge of European viticulture and within comfortable driving distance of two of the world's most consequential wine regions. Champagne begins 180 kilometres south of Brussels, across the French border via Charleroi — 2 hours in a private vehicle. Burgundy is 450 kilometres, approximately 3 hours 45 minutes. Both are accessible as day programmes (long days) or, more comfortably, as overnight and weekend programmes with accommodation.

FFGR Belgium's wine programme is built on appointment access. We do not take clients to the visitor centres of the grands marques. We arrange private appointments with the growers — the vignerons who make Champagne in quantities of 5,000 to 20,000 bottles per year, whose names appear on wine lists at Michelin two-star restaurants in Japan and the United States, and who receive private visitors by introduction only.

In Champagne, our programme typically covers two or three estates across two days: a large house for context (the scale, the crayères, the industrial process at its extraordinary apex), then two grower-producers for the antidote — a family farm, an historic cellar, a direct conversation with the person who made the wine you are tasting. Lunch at the Table du Vigneron or similar estate dining room.

In Burgundy, the programme is necessarily more selective given the density of the region. We focus on a single village or appellation — Gevrey-Chambertin, Vosne-Romanée, Meursault — and visit two to three domaines across a full day. The educational depth available in a single-village Burgundy day exceeds what most clients can absorb; we calibrate the programme to your level of existing knowledge.

FFGR Belgium wine tour pricing: Champagne day programme from €820 (vehicle, guide coordination, grower liaison). Champagne overnight from €1,600 (vehicle, guide, accommodation at a curated Epernay property). Burgundy day programme from €1,100. All include FFGR chauffeur service throughout.
